On Thursday, June 15, 2023, in Laguna Hills, Calif., The Women’s Hospital at MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new Obstetric Emergency Department (OB ED) and commemorate the Women’s Hospital’s 35th Anniversary. The new OB ED will work in conjunction with the main Emergency Department at Saddleback Medical Center to fill a gap in emergency maternity care in South Orange County by providing prompt and high-quality maternity care to patients who experience obstetric or non-obstetric issues while pregnant or newly postpartum. Providing this emergency obstetrical care is redefining the standard of hospital-based women’s services giving community members peace of mind knowing this additional comfort and support is available to women 24/7 year-round.
“Congratulations to our team of exceptional OB GYN physicians and our labor and delivery team for this outstanding accomplishment,” said Marcia Manker, CEO, MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center. “The Women’s Hospital continues to elevate its level of emergency obstetrical care and is redefining the standard of hospital-based women’s services with the opening of the new OB ED, giving community members peace of mind knowing this additional comfort and support is available to women.”
