The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) has awarded the MemorialCare Rehabilitation Institute at Long Beach Medical Center a three-year accreditation for its inpatient rehabilitation program, marking the eighth consecutive accreditation for the program.
The accreditation recognizes MemorialCare Rehabilitation Institute’s commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation care and meeting internationally recognized standards for service excellence, accountability and continuous improvement.
“Achieving CARF accreditation for the eighth consecutive time reflects our team’s commitment to delivering high standards of rehabilitation care, with an emphasis on innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement,” says Jason R. The MemorialCare Rehabilitation Institute provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation care for patients recovering from stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions and other complex medical conditions. At Long Beach Medical Center, patients have access to three rehabilitation gym spaces, including a spacious main gym with natural light, parallel bars, exercise therapy equipment and the Vector body weight support system, which helps patients safely practice walking, balance and mobility during physical therapy.
This accreditation represents CARF’s highest level of recognition and reflects the program’s commitment to quality, safety and strong patient outcomes. The Institute also includes dedicated occupational therapy spaces that simulate everyday environments, including a kitchen, bathroom and car, helping patients rebuild daily living skills in practical, real-world settings. Speech therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, rehabilitation nurses, physicians and other specialists work together to provide individualized care designed to maximize recovery, improve function and support each patient’s quality of life.
