MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center hosted a sold-out crowd of more than 350 guests at its annual Gala on Saturday, October 8th at the Balboa Bay Resort in Newport Beach. It is the hospital’s first Gala since 2019 and the black tie event raised a record amount of $750,000 for the MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Orange Coast Medical Center.

Proceeds from the event will be used to support the hospital’s comprehensive heart program, including the next phase of development for the Heart & Vascular Institute – a cutting-edge Cardiovascular Suite that will enable the hospital to expand its use of innovative therapies for its patients.

Scheduled to open in December 2022, the Cardiovascular Suite will include a second state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization laboratory, a dedicated cardiovascular observation unit for pre-procedural admission and post procedural recovery, and eight additional telemetry-equipped private patient rooms.

“After a three-year break from gathering because of COVID-19, I would like to personally thank our generous donors and sponsors for their continued loyalty and philanthropy in making this year’s gala our most successful one,” said Marcia Manker, CEO of MemorialCare Orange Coast Medical Center. “With the eagerly anticipated completion of the new Cardiovascular Suite, our incredible team of experienced cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons and cardiac nurses will have a world-class facility designed to enhance clinical outcomes and lifesaving care for our community for many years to come.”
