MemorialCare Leadership, physicians, and elected officials gathering to cut the ribbon to unveil the new MCMG University Park Location

MemorialCare Medical Group hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of its new OB/GYN and Primary Care clinic at University Park in Irvine, Calif. MemorialCare executives, State Senator Dave Min; Tami Adams, executive, UnitedHealthcare; and Brian Mew, South OC Economic Coalition, were in attendance at the ceremony.

“It’s part of MemorialCare Medical Group’s mission to close the gap in access to health care and reduce wait times to see a physician for crucial maternity and primary care services,” says Annamarie Jones, chief operating officer, MemorialCare Medical Foundation. “We are thrilled to be able to bring this expanded access to care to the city of Irvine. In addition, we know that people are busy, so having a one-stop-shop approach with primary care, maternity care, lab services, ultrasound and non-stress testing makes it easier for our busy patients and families.”

The clinic contains 15 exam rooms and lab services, so busy people don’t need to travel to another location for lab work. For OB patients, ultrasounds and fetal non-stress tests are all done at this location, under the same roof. Those in attendance were given a tour of the 9,460-square-foot space.

“This newest Irvine location means Orange County families will have even greater access to outstanding healthcare right in their backyard,” said California State Senator Dave Min. “This new primary and maternity care facility adds to the robust network of MemorialCare sites in the area and ensures that patients will have timely access to diagnosis and treatments. I am excited about this development and what it means for healthcare in the region.”

Women who visit this clinic also have access to The Women’s Hospital at MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center, should the need arise for urgent, high-quality maternity care. The Women’s Hospital at MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center is celebrating its 35th anniversary and the opening of its new Obstetric Emergency Department (OB ED) in May. The Women’s Hospital is also embarking on a complete renovation to refresh and upgrade its Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum (LDRP) suites that will open later this summer. MemorialCare Saddleback Medical Center is also developing a new Women’s Health Pavilion providing women with an elevated patient experience and position itself to meet the growing needs of women in the community. The Women’s Health Pavilion, scheduled to begin a phased opening in 2023, will feature the comprehensive Sarah & Taylor Nederlander Breast Center.

The MemorialCare Medical Group - University Park location will see its first patients on Monday, May 22.
