About
As a family physician, Dr. Candace Basich enjoys seeing patients of all ages and levels of complexity. She focuses on preventive medicine, integrated management of chronic diseases, and women's health.
Board certified in family medicine, Dr. Basich served as Chief of Resident during her Residency through UC Irvine at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. She received her Doctorate of Medicine at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, where she also completed the Healthcare Executive Leadership Program to focus on healthcare quality, management, and policy.
Over the last ten years, Dr. Basich has been actively volunteering in many organizations such as the UCSD Student-Run Free Clinic, the Children's Hospital Oakland and more. She has also worked internationally in Ecuador, Mexico, and Costa Rica. She has received numerous awards including UC San Diego School of Medicine Regents Scholar, Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society, UC Berkeley Chancellors Scholar, Alumni Scholar and Deans List.
Currently, she serves as volunteer faculty for the Department of Family Medicine at UC Irvine School of Medicine.

From the moment you walk in and the receptionist greets you with a happy smile, to Brittany smiling and helping to weigh me and take notes, to Dr. Basich greeting me with a happy smile also. I always feel comfortable talking to her, giving her all my issues that I had, and listening to me! . I’m giving her a list of things that I’ll need for medicine. She’s always very receptive kind gracious and she wants to make sure I feel great by the time I get out of the appointment. I’m very blessed to have her as my doctor. She’s a wonderful doctor and she takes care of people in a wonderful way.She also is very good at diagnosing things that I’m going through and making sure I feel safe and comfortable!!!! From the moment I walk in I’m greeted with wonderful receptionist then the nurse Brittany calls me in to the office after taking all my vital signs very wonderful pleasant and happy experience! Then Dr.Basich comes in with a happy smile a great attitude about making sure I’m OK. She goes over all my medicines and make sure I’m doing the right thing. She is always thoroughly prepared for appointment and begins by asking how I’m doing and then follows up by reviewing all open issues from previous appointments and updates from my perspective.Even though it may have been 6 months or a year she is able to pick up where we left off before and tie in any changes with previous history.She always ties everything into the big picture including specialists and other medical practitioners.I have the highest regards for her professionalism, knowledge and looking after my best interests.Her integrity is unquestionable.
