Shanti Nilakantan, MD

Shanti Nilakantan, MD, is board-certified in internal medicine. Dr. Nilakantan earned her medical degree from Lady Hardinge Medical College, University of Delhi in India. She completed her internship at Muhlenberg Hospital in New Jersey, and her residency at Nassau County Medical Center in New York. In addition, Dr. Nilakantan served as an active duty medical officer in the US Army for three years. She was inspired to become a doctor by the dedication of a family physician who took care of her during her childhood. Dr. Nilakantan also was influenced to pursue a medical career by reading about Florence Nightingale, the British founder of modern nursing. In her spare time, Dr. Nilakantan enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and listening to music. In addition to English, she speaks Hindi, Punjabi, and several other Indian dialects.
