About
Christopher Babbitt. M.D., is the medical director of the Cherese Mari Laulhere Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at MemorialCare Miller Children’s & Women’s Hospital. He received his medical degree at Tulane Medical School in New Orleans, La. before going on to complete his residency and fellowship at University of California, Los Angeles Mattel Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Babbitt is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics with a subspecialty in pediatric critical care. He has served in several different appointments at Miller Children’s throughout his career, including clinical director of the PICU and medical director of physician informatics.
Dr. Babbitt is a member of several professional societies including, the California Thoracic Society, American Academy of Pediatrics, AAP Section of Critical Care Medicine, and Society of Critical Care Medicine.
Throughout his career, Dr. Babbitt has been invited to present his work at several institutions in Boston, San Diego and San Francisco. His work has appeared in multiple peer reviewed medical journals and books, and he has acted as a reviewer for the Journal of Critical Care, Respiratory Care, Pediatric Pulmonology, and the Journal of Pediatric Intensive Care.
