Overview
“REvascularization CHoices Among under-Represented Groups Evaluation: The RECHARGE Trial”
Researchers are studying two commonly used treatments for coronary artery disease (CAD): percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), often called angioplasty with stents, and coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. This study will compare how these treatments affect survival, symptoms, and quality of life in women and in Black or Hispanic patients with multivessel or left main coronary artery disease. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either PCI or CABG and will be followed for up to 10 years. Researchers hope the results will help patients and their doctors make more informed treatment decisions based on long-term outcomes and quality of life.
