“A single arm, multicenter, open-label extension (OLE) trial to evaluate long-term safety and tolerability of pelacarsen (TQJ230) in participants who completed the parent Lp(a)HORIZON trial”

Researchers are studying the long-term safety and effectiveness of pelacarsen, an investigational medication designed to lower lipoprotein(a), also called Lp(a), a genetic risk factor for cardiovascular disease. This study is an extension of the previous Lp(a)HORIZON trial and is available to participants who completed the parent study. All participants will receive pelacarsen by monthly injection and will be monitored for side effects, cardiovascular events such as heart attack or stroke, and changes in Lp(a) levels. Approximately 5,700 participants worldwide are expected to take part.
