About

Jennifer Huynh, MD (she/her)’s path towards obstetrics and gynecology developed organically from her own experiences navigating women’s health. “My journey included my own infertility, which opened my eyes to the importance of advocacy, empathy and the benefit from feeling heard and understood,” she shares. “But there were also the roles I naturally stepped into throughout my life, such as being a friend, a daughter, a sister, a mentor, a helpful stranger, and a mother. I found myself as the person family and friends turn to with their stories, questions, and worries - conversations that allowed me to witness the vulnerabilities and strength that shape women’s health journeys. Over time, this solidified my desire to be part of a field that offers not only medical expertise, but steady, compassionate support throughout the different stages of life.”

Dr. Huynh says the most rewarding part of being an OBGYN for her is being able to help women achieve health outcomes that best address their priorities during the different phases of their lives. “Witnessing all the emotions during the happy and difficult times is such a privilege,” she notes. “And it feels good to know when my patients feel empowered, seen, and heard as individuals. At the end of the day, if I can help someone feel confident in the decision she makes about her body and I’ve been able to contribute meaningfully to her well-being, then I feel like I’ve done my job well.”

Dr. Huynh says she enjoys working with women of all ages.

“I always try to connect with my patients through a holistic approach by understanding their unique values, cultural background, ethical beliefs, priorities, and needs. I want my patients to feel respected, informed, supported, and genuinely included in their medical decisions. I strive to incorporate all those considerations in creating an evidence-based care plan that best supports their health in a way that feels right for them.”

From a clinical perspective, Dr. Huynh says, “I am passionate about infertility, routine and high-risk pregnancies, abnormal bleeding, contraception education, managing abnormal pap test results, menopause, hormone therapy, and pelvic floor prolapse. I have experience in minimally invasive surgery, including the use of robotic assistance, and performing procedures such as removing fibroids and ovarian cysts, hysterectomy, and female sterilization.”

Dr. Huynh grew up in San Diego, California and speaks Vietnamese and Spanish. When she is not helping women navigate their medical care, she loves traveling internationally and learning about different cultures and says she has visited over 45 countries and counting. “I love doing photography and hosting dinners to whip up new recipes. I enjoy working out, hiking, camping, scuba diving, and snowboarding--practically almost all outdoorsy and water activities. I am always picking up new hobbies and do-it-yourself projects,” she says. “I love spending time with my friends and family, especially seeing my daughter explore the world around her.”
