Zeenath Masood, MD

Zeenath Masood, MD, attended medical school at Medical University of South Carolina. She pursued medicine as a career because she loves being around patients and caring for them. Growing up, she would often visit the halls of the Medical University of South Carolina, where her father pursued his research in biochemistry. Eventually Dr. Masood went on to attend medical school there.

After medical school, Dr. Masood went on to complete her internship and residency in family medicine at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and was later chosen to become an attending physician. She has been practicing the full spectrum of family medicine for the past ten years. Her areas of interest includes women's health, chronic care management, patient center medical homes, and residency education.

I love every aspect of medicine, from talking to my patients to gain a better understanding and providing individualized care, to partaking in their joys and hardships and helping them navigate situations that may impact their health. Ensuring my patients understand each component of their health and manage their medical problems is imperative for me. The ability to provide compassionate care and addressing their concerns gives me the most satisfaction in providing care.

Dr. Masood is experienced in culturally competent medical management of diabetic patients, such as those who may be fasting during Ramadan or other religious holidays. She also provides culturally appropriate accommodations to those requiring more privacy during examinations for female patients. Dr. Masood has a collaborative arrangement with the clinical pharmacy onsite, where the lead pharmacist provides medication consultations free of charge to her patients.

Dr. Masood grew up in the beautiful city of Charleston, SC, and moved to California for residency. Her family is originally from Hyderabad, India and she is fluent in Urdu and Hindi. Dr. Masood has also taken medical Spanish courses and continues to learn to become more fluent. Outside of medicine, her interests include spending time with her family, volunteering, reading, and gardening.
