MemorialCare continues the expansion and development of cardiovascular care services in Southern California by welcoming two nationally and internationally renowned cardiovascular surgeons, Marc Sakwa, M.D., and Jeffrey Altshuler, M.D., to the MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute.

Drs. Sakwa and Altshuler are pioneers in the adoption of minimally invasive techniques for complex heart procedures, having provided this groundbreaking care for more than 10 years at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan, ranked by US News and World Report among the nation’s top cardiac surgery programs.

They chose MemorialCare as their new home after a thorough search for a cardiovascular program that would provide the opportunity to bring their expertise to a larger population and work side-by-side with an exceptional team of cardiologists and surgeons.

Supported by the exceptional team of physicians and distinguished as a regional leader in heart and vascular care, MemorialCare will continue to invest in personalized prevention programs, leading diagnostics, advanced treatment, rehabilitation and support services.
