Amy Bullock Morse is a licensed psychologist who is thrilled to join WISE Wellness at Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital. In her role with WISE, Dr. Morse will provide supportive resources to help staff address caregiver burnout. Dr. Morse currently manages the Whole Child Program, a collaborative partnership between The Guidance Center and MCWH, and provides psychosocial support to children and families. Dr. Morse was previously a staff psychologist at CHOC Children’s and a Child Life Program Director at Mattel Children’s Hospital UCLA before joining MCWH. Dr. Morse’s clinical research is focused on reducing barriers with access to mental health services. Dr. Morse has presented to local, national and international audiences on topics related to children’s mental health.
Sheryl Faulk is a Board-Certified Chaplain with training and experience in hospital chaplaincy, disaster spiritual care, and crisis management. As the Director of Spiritual Care of MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center, Miller Children’s and Women’s Hospital, Orange Coast Medical Center, and Saddleback Medical Center, Sheryl has served in numerous leadership roles in the organization and community including Co-Chair of the Patient Family Advisory Council, Resiliency Committee, President of the Interfaith Council of South Orange County, and current board member of the South Coast Interfaith Council in Long Beach and South Bay area. Sheryl is also an alumna of the Memorial Health Services Leadership Academy Class of 2004 and serves in various leadership roles including the MemorialCare Diversity Equity and Inclusion Task Force, Bioethics Committee, and the MHS Institutional Research Board. Trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and Disaster Response Spiritual Care Management, Rev. Faulk has responded to disasters internationally with multiple deployments including Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Haiti Earthquake in 2010, Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and Alaska Air/Flight 261 Crash in 2000.
Rev. Sheryl is passionate about providing support to healthcare colleagues, serving on the systemwide Resilience Committee, RISE Resiliency in Stressful Events, and WISE Wellbeing in Stressful Events Steering Committee. Sheryl is a strong collaborator with Mental Health Leadership team and during the COVID-19 pandemic partnered with Mental Health Professionals to provide debriefings and support for colleagues, along with physicians and staff throughout the organization. Sheryl currently is collaborating with Amy Morse, Psy. D., to present WISE Thoughtful Thursdays each month. The hallmark of Rev. Sheryl’s ministry is honoring and caring for the wellbeing of her colleagues while encouraging finding meaning and joy in the workplace. Sheryl nurtures her own work-life balance with 11 grandchildren.
Rev. Yee is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and is a Board-Certified Chaplain. Joshua is a certified Lean leader, is trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, and has been trained in the Emergency Medical Services Hospital Disaster Management and Hospital Incident Command System. As the Manager of Spiritual Care Department at LBMC and MCWHLB, Joshua provides spiritual and emotional support for numerous patients, families, and staff. He is particularly passionate about helping to care for our healthcare colleagues by providing resources and aid during times of distress. Joshua leads the RISE (Resiliency in Stressful Events) peer-to-peer support program throughout MemorialCare and has served as the systemwide RISE Coordinator since the program’s rollout. In addition to RISE, Joshua has been instrumental in the development and oversight of our various other Caring with Compassion resources, including the Tea for the Soul program and the Post Code Pause and Code Lavender initiatives at our Long Beach campuses, and being one of the facilitators for our staff debriefs throughout the organization in times of crisis and trauma. He is a member of our systemwide Resiliency Committee and collaborates with many of our interdisciplinary team members and leaders, providing valued resources to help build resilience and combat compassion fatigue and burnout. Joshua also is a certified Bereavement Coordinator and has served as LBMC and MCWHLB’s Decedent Affairs Coordinator for the past seven years, helping to manage death processes and policies as well as provide oversight of our hospital morgue, which was crucial to our hospital’s operations and in providing holistic and dignified care to all patients and their families, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Marcus Dayhoff is Clinical Director with REACH Employee Assistance and Work/Life Services. For the past 21 years, under his leadership, REACH has been MemorialCare’s system-wide EAP and Work/Life services provider. Marcus has a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology and is certified as an Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP) and Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). He is currently a national member of the Employee Assistance Professional Association (EAPA) and Vice President of the Orange County Chapter. Marcus has presented at numerous local and national EAP and Human Resources conferences from his extensive training and expertise in the area of crisis response, grief support, and employee wellness. He has had numerous articles published on the topics of mental health, motivation, executive burnout, grieving at work, corporate crisis response, and employee communication and engagement. Marcus is co-author of the groundbreaking “personal and professional development” book entitled Fire Your Excuses through Quincy Bay Press.
Dr. Dayhoff feels it is an honor to provide MemorialCare hospital and health system employees with compassionate EAP training, consultation, and individual and group counseling support. Through his partnership with Human Resources, Spiritual Care, and other employee support departments, he has assisted in launching key programs to support healthcare workers struggling with stressful events. These resources include the SWIT Safety program, RISE peer support, and recently the WISE support program for COVID-19.
