The Orange Coast Medical Center Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program will help people with chronic lung disease gain better control of their breathing and improve their overall quality of life. Our staff will work in partnership with you to evaluate your abilities and develop an individualized treatment and exercise plan. Orange Coast Medical Center has a team specializing in pulmonary rehabilitation. The team provides intensive exercise, education, self-management training and psychosocial support under the medical direction of a board certified pulmonologist (lung specialist).
Chronic respiratory diseases cannot be cured; however, they can be successfully managed and treated. Understanding what you can do to control your lung disease is the key to breathing easier, and feeling better.
Continuing a regular exercise routine is key to maintaining good pulmonary health. Upon completion of the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, each participant is eligible to participate in a maintenance exercise program to support the patient's effort in maintaining their exercise routine and lung health. The maintenance exercise program is available for a small fee.
Orange Coast Medical Center offers a bi-monthly Better Breathers Club support group that is complimentary. Guest speakers include pulmonologists, pharmacists, and lung disease specialists. Listen, learn, and engage with others on various topics about lung disease.
