The Emergency Department at Long Beach Medical Center is the largest of its kind in California and among the newest and most advanced in the entire United States. Each year, we treat approximately 80,000 patients. One of Los Angeles County's original trauma centers, the Emergency Department (ED) and Trauma Center underwent an $11-million renovation in 2002, expanding the department to 32,000 square feet with 53 beds and creating a dedicated children's area.

The Long Beach Medical Center Emergency Department (ED) treats more than 100,000 patients each year — more than 1,600 of those patients are treated by the Trauma Center.
