Dr. Austin received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley in 1996 and her Medical Degree at the University of Michigan Medical School in 2001. Dr. Austin completed her Pediatric Residency at Children Hospital Los Angeles and in 2006 moved to Oregon for her Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University where she also obtained a Master of Clinical Research.
During her fellowship she published several articles including How Should we be Treating Childrens with Congenital Hypothyroidism, Permanent Neonatal Diabetes with Autoimmunity and Hormonal Regulators of Appetite. Her research has strengthened her commitment to providing the most current therapies for patients and the most up to date information to families.
She became Board Certified in Pediatrics in 2005 and Board Certified in Pediatric Endocrinology in 2009. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and holds membership in many regional and national medical societies. She specializes in Childhood Diabetes with special interest in Pump Therapy, Short Stature/Growth Disorders, Adrenal Disorders, Thyroid Disorders, Precocious and Delayed Puberty.
