Alayn Govea, MD

Dr. Alayn Govea is a fellowship trained, board certified interventional cardiologist with the South Coast Heart and Vascular medical group in Lakewood.

His clinical interests include structural heart conditions (mitral stenosis, regurgitation; aortic stenosis; tricuspid stenosis, regurgitation); coronary artery disease (CAD); peripheral valvular disease; and minimally invasive procedures (WATCHMAN™, MitraClip™, left atrial appendage (LAA), patent foramen ovale closure (PFO)).

He received his medical degree from University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine and residency in internal medicine at University of California San Francisco Department of Medicine. He then continued with two fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at University of San Diego Medical Center. Dr. Govea is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
