Cancer affects our society in devastating ways and is the second leading cause of mortality in the U.S. so chances are you know someone living with or a survivor of cancer. With studies showing that 40 percent of the population will be diagnosed with cancer sometime in their lifetime, it's clear there is a growing need to expand the services available for cancer patients and to build a dedicated cancer facility in Long Beach.
Long Beach Medical Center currently is one of the larger cancer programs in Los Angeles County, and has been accredited by the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons (ACOS) for its broad range of services. Long Beach Medical Center treats more than 1,800 newly diagnosed patients each year. The current space has reached capacity and technology continues to evolve.

To meet the needs of our community, Long Beach Medical Center has built a new 64,000 sq. ft. pavilion for the MemorialCare Cancer Institute. The pavilion is complete with many of the services that cancer patients and their families need with space to expand our capacity and provide additional patient services. This new comprehensive setting will help Long Beach Medical Center to continue offering the best care and latest treatment options for cancer. The facility offers the most advanced technology and therapies that are available for cancer patients and their families. It is a place where the patient's medical, emotional and spiritual needs are met.
