  • Measles

The Vaccine Hub accepts patients with vaccine prescriptions, as recommended by the CDC vaccination schedule.

Vaccines Prevent Disease

Vaccines are among the safest medical products available and can prevent the suffering and costs associated with preventable disease. The potential risks associated with the diseases that vaccines prevent are much greater than the potential risks from the vaccines themselves.

The diseases vaccines prevent can be dangerous, or even deadly. Vaccines greatly reduce the risk of infection by working with the body’s natural defenses to safely develop immunity to disease. Vaccines have reduced and, in some cases, eliminated many diseases that killed or severely disabled people just a few generations ago.

Infants and older adults are at greater risk for serious infections and complications, but vaccine-preventable disease can affect anyone. If you’re young and healthy, getting vaccinated can help you stay that way.

Travel Health Services & Travel Medicine Consult

Travel wise and protect yourself. At MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center you can receive a one-on-one consultation with a trained medical professional whose expertise includes travel medicine and vaccinations. A travel-related consult will help you learn about health risks and recommended travel-related vaccines and medicines you may need for your destination before you set off on your journey.

It’s recommended that you see a health care provider for a travel-related consult at least four to six weeks prior to travel. This is because it typically takes vaccines a couple weeks before they become fully effective; and in some cases, an additional dose or doses of the vaccine or booster shots, are needed.

Travel-related consultations are tailored to the individual traveler and addresses health issues and required immunizations based on national and international regulations to reduce the impact of destination-specific health risks.

Schedule Your Appointment

If you are planning a vacation or business trip, we invite you to schedule an appointment with the Vaccine Hub at least four to six weeks before your trip. During this consult, the physician will help you, determine which vaccinations or medications you may need, and addresses health precautions that may be cause for concern before taking a trip nationally or internationally.

Special considerations may need to be made when traveling that you may not be aware of. Consults offer you an opportunity to feel more informed about your health as you prepare for travel.
