Dr. Patel is board certified in neurology. Dr. Patel is a graduate of UCLA School of Medicine and completed his Residency, Chief Residency, and Stroke Fellowship at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He enjoys teaching neurology and internal medicine residents and has been awarded the “Outstanding Teaching Award” for the last three years.
Dr. Patel is the Medical Director of the Stroke program and the Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine at Los Alamitos Medical Center. Additionally, he serves as the Section Chief of Neurology at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. He actively participates in clinical research in the field of Neurology with CNS Network. He has a special interest in Stroke, Migraine Headache, Alzheimer's Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis. Dr. Patel is a well known speaker on the use of Botox for treatment of Migraines. He also is a member of the speakers bureau for the treatment of Epilepsy and Alzheimer's.
