Below is a list of parenting classes offered at the Cherese Mari Laulhere BirthCare Center at Miller Children's & Women's. For more information, or to register for one of these classes, follow the link below. Expectant mothers are encouraged to bring a support person to class (any cost would cover both persons).

  • Breastfeeding Basics
    n this one-session class, you will learn about the basics of breastfeeding and how to get off to the best start. A board-certifi ed lactation consultant will talk about how milk is made, latch and positions, and how to know if the baby is getting enough milk, as well as common challenges and how to address them. 
     
  • Preparation for Childbirth
    Topics include the labor and birth process, hospital procedures, breathing and relaxation techniques, partner’s role, pain management options, cesarean birth, and the postpartum period.
     
  • Nurturing the New You Support Group
    Having a baby can feel overwhelming at times. Join other mothers or primary caretakers (dads/partners included) and pre-crawling infants in a supportive environment aimed to reduce stress, increase self-confidence and strengthen the emotional connection to baby.
