Description

The MemorialCare Rehabilitation Institute at Long Beach Medical Center offer gentle Pilates and core strengthening for cancer survivors.

Created by Joseph Pilates (1883 - 1967), Pilates is an exercise system which focuses on engaging the mind and body with exercises initiated from the core. Pilates can help strengthen the spine and improve spinal health at various stages of healing and fitness.

This one-hour, weekly Pilates session is a Level 1 class that focuses on correct spinal alignment and core abdominal muscle function during exercise.
