One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime. Breast cancer encompasses several different subtypes, and there is no one best treatment path for all women. Personalized treatments are being used in breast cancer to tailor the management to each woman’s specific cancer. Clinical research trials also are progressing at a rapid pace, to develop new treatments in this exciting, growing field. Merry L Tetef, M.D., Clinical Professor at UCLA, will review current breast cancer treatment trends and will discuss what is next, looking ahead to future clinical research.
