More than 120 people attended the Annual Legacy Wall Celebration honoring four individuals: Nancy Eilers; Patti Eckenroth, RN; Elsa Gildner; and Myrna Wigod.
Those honored yearly allows Community Hospital Long Beach to thank those who have contributed to making Community Hospital Long Beach (CHLB) the extraordinary hospital that it has been for 91 years. Mike Vasilomanolakis, M.D., served as master of ceremonies, and was an honoree last year.
The Legacy Wall Committee (made up of former honorees) nominates honorees based on established criteria: a minimum of 15 years of service at CHLB as an employee, volunteer, medical staff member, donor, board member; and demonstration of the “Community Spirit.”
Each honoree was given an award, and proclamations from: Assemblyperson Patrick O’Donnell; LA County Supervisor Don Knabe; Mayor Robert Garcia and Councilmember Daryl Supernaw.
At the close of the ceremony, guests were directed into the main lobby area of CHLB for the unveiling of the Legacy Wall, which includes a photo of each of the 2015 honorees.
The vision of the Community Hospital Long Bach Foundation is to ensure CHLB is a high quality health care provider to the residents and businesses of East Long Beach distinguished by compassionate care, exceptional physicians, community relations and leading technology that provides the best inpatient and outpatient health care in the region.
