If you have a medical emergency, please call 9-1-1.
Heart Attack (Myocardial Infarction) is a Medical Emergency
If you think you may be experiencing a heart attack, call 9-1-1 right away so that treatment can start as soon as possible. Do not drive yourself or wait for a ride from a friend or family member. Have an ambulance take you to a hospital that is a cardiac receiving center right away.
STEMI Receiving Center
An ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) is a form of heart attack. It is important that those who experience a STEMI be treated within 90 minutes of the first onset of symptoms. The Emergency Department at Saddleback Memorial is one of only a few designated cardiac receiving centers with emergency treatment times that beat the national average. The STEMI receiving team works in conjunction with the MemorialCare Heart and Vascular Institute at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center to provide the best cardiac care available.
