The MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute (MHVI) at Saddleback Medical Center offers comprehensive, personalized care for the most complex cardiac and vascular conditions. Our MHVI physicians and clinical teams coordinate all aspects of your heart and vascular care, from prevention, screening, and diagnosis throughout treatment and rehabilitation.

Saddleback Medical Center is a Designated Cardiac Receiving Center, with emergency cardiac treatment times that are some of the fastest in Orange County. Our state-of-the-art facilities and programs feature full-service cardiovascular catheterization laboratories for diagnostics, cardiovascular pre-admission testing, minimally invasive interventions and one of the most cardiac surgery programs in the region. Saddleback Medical Center was instrumental in pioneering beating heart surgery and achieves excellent outcomes for heart repair. After receiving inpatient care, most cardiac patients continue their treatment in our cardiac rehabilitation program.

Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
The human heart is a muscular organ that is made up of four chambers and there are four valves that allow blood to flow through the heart. The right side of the heart pumps blood through the lungs where it picks up oxygen and the left side receives this oxygenated blood and pumps it to the rest of the body. Some individuals as they age may develop symptomatic ‘stenosis’ of the aortic valve in the heart.
