Incoming House Staff Resources
Congratulations on your selection of Long Beach Memorial Medical Center & Miller’s Children Hospital Long Beach for your training. The following are requirements for clearance to train as a house staff member at our institution. Please read this information carefully as it will save you time in the long run.EPIC Training
Prior to the start of your rotation you must complete the check-in process in the house staff office referred to as the Graduate Medical Education (GME) office. You will be required to complete training in the use and capabilities of Epic, an electronic medical record system. This online training must be completed prior to the beginning of your clinical rotation. Failure to complete the online module will prevent you from completing your check-in process with the GME office—and will prevent you from starting your clinical work.In order for you to complete your online Epic training, a unique identifier code will be sent to you (via email or mail) from the GME office at least three weeks prior to the beginning of your rotation. You will also be required to view the following video prior to check-in.
What to Bring With You
To assist with the check-in process, please bring a photo identification badge and your car license plate number to your check-in. All other materials will be provided by the GME office. You may schedule an appointment to complete the check-in process by calling the GME office or you may walk-in between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. The check-in process takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.
We are located on the basement level of LBMMC, adjacent to the Medical Library.
