The nursing staff is trained and experienced in orthopedic care and a dedicated program coordinator oversees your complete care, including pre-surgical education, inpatient therapy, rehabilitation and home care.

William C. Kim, M.D.Dr. William C. Kim is an orthopedic surgeon at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center with widely recognized expertise in total joint replacement surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and The Orthopaedic Research Society. Dr. Kim has additional training as a Fellow in Total Joint Replacement/Bioengineering and is former Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at UCLA. He is currently Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of California at Irvine with research emphasis in total joint replacement surgery. Dr. Kim is co-recipient of The John Charnley Award (1984), the most prestigious award presented annually by The Hip Society American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons for hip surgery research by world-wide competition. Dr. Kim is designer-surgeon for an advanced total hip and a total knee prosthesis presently in world-wide use.
Timothy W. Gibson, M.D.
Dr. Timothy W. Gibson is an orthopedic surgeon at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. He has expertise in all aspects of arthritis treatment including arthroscopic surgery and joint replacement. He also specializes in sports medicine.
Dr. Gibson acquired his undergraduate degree at the University of California at Irvine, and completed medical school at UCLA. After completing his orthopedic residency at the LA County USC Medical Center, he completed his fellowship training at the San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Fellowship.
He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Gibson resides with his family in Huntington Beach, California.
Kelsey C. Peterson, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Kelsey C. Peterson, Jr., is an orthopedic surgeon at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center who is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He established his Huntington Beach-based practice in 1975.
Dr. Peterson received his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and earned his doctorate degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. After an internship at Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon, Dr. Peterson served as a flight surgeon in the United States Navy. He then completed a four-year orthopedic residency at the University of Oregon, Hospitals and Clinics in 1975.
He holds memberships with several professional organizations, including the Orange County Medical Association, California Medical Association, Western Orthopaedic Association, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
