Dr. Stutman is a pediatric infectious disease physician who received his medical degree from Pennsylvania State University and pediatric and infectious disease training at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and the University and Children's Hospital of Oklahoma. He has over 20 years' experience in both clinical and laboratory research and has held faculty positions at the Universities of Oklahoma and California, Irvine.

Dr. Stutman has also served in numerous positions at Miller Children's Hospital, including chair of the quality improvement council and chief of staff. His research interests are in the fields of pediatric antimicrobial therapy, cystic fibrosis and the use of computer technology in medicine. He has served on the executive board of the Computer-Based Patient Record Institute and the Medical Information System Physicians Association and is a fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America.

In his position with MemorialCare, Dr. Stutman is responsible for coordinating the activity of the various committees and councils that oversee research at the MemorialCare Medical Centers. In this endeavor, he works closely with the members of the MHS Research Council (IRB), particularly its chair, Dr. Houchang Modanlou. The Office of Research Administration also includes experienced staff in regulatory compliance, grants administration, biostatistics, laboratory safety and related areas. These dedicated professionals work together to ensure that all research activities at MemorialCare are thoroughly reviewed and that no opportunity is missed to maximize the value and safety of research at MemorialCare.
