Modified Duty Wellness Program
If an injured employee is placed on Modified Duty with restrictions an employer cannot accommodate, Memorial Occupational Medical Services in conjunction with an Environmental Psychologist has designed a program to assist you.
Your employee reports to “work” at Memorial Occupational Medical Services for their eight hour work day instead of staying home risking a chance of exacerbating their injury. During their “shift” your employee is under constant supervision and will learn basic safety and prevention techniques, in addition to health, wellness, ergonomics, nutrition and a variety of other subjects.
Statistics show that an injured employee who is able to return to work costs a company an average of $700 but if that employee is taken off work the average claim costs increase to approximately $8,000. The costs savings alone is one reason why you would like to keep your employee productive. Being taken off work could also be detrimental to an employee’s self esteem as well as their physical well-being by becoming less active.
