Annie Capaldi Heart Revitalization Suite
Orange Coast Memorial is one of the first hospitals in the nation to introduce a hybrid interventional operating room, a state-of-the-art cardiac operating room and cardiovascular catheterization lab combined. This revolutionary new suite, located in Orange County, is one of only a handful in the country. Annie's suite is designed for open-heart surgeries such as cardiac bypass, as well as minimally invasive catheter-based cardiovascular procedures like angioplasty. Annie's suite also allows cardiac surgeons to perform diagnostic testing during and at the end of cardiac surgery.
Minimally Invasive Interventions
More than a dozen types of minimally invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures can be performed at the MemorialCare Heart & Vascular Institute at Orange Coast, utilizing its state-of-the-art cardiovascular catheterization laboratory.The lab's digital imaging system provides highly detailed views of the heart and surrounding blood vessels while minimizing radiation exposure. This new technology gives cardiologists the ability to look inside the heart and blood vessels. Procedures can be performed more efficiently and with less risk to patients.
These minimally invasive capabilities complement Orange Coast Memorial's noninvasive cardiology services and enhance its award-winning emergency department by allowing patients admitted with chest pain or other heart attack symptoms to go directly to the cardiovascular center for diagnostic procedures.
