Neuro-Oncology Program
Revolutionary care for brain and spine tumorsThe Neuro-Oncology Program is part of the prestigious MemorialCare Cancer Institute at Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center. The program offers a unique approach to treating brain cancer and spine tumors, bringing together a dedicated team of extraordinary experts including neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, pathologists, medical and radiation oncologists, and support staff.
These experts are united in their mission to offer the very
best treatment options that are specifically individualized
to each patient. Access to care is convenient with all
services provided in one location in the new Orange
Coast Memorial Patient Care Pavilion. Here patients
can move seamlessly between all levels of cancer care,
from physician visits and chemotherapy to imaging and
radiation—including treatment with the revolutionary
CyberKnife, one of the only technologies of its kind in
Orange County.
The Neuro-Oncology Program ensures patients don't fight cancer alone—they are supported by an entire team of experts.

Advanced Techniques
Offering the best staging and therapyTreating brain and spine tumors requires a sophisticated approach to diagnosis and treatment. Pinpoint accuracy is critical in minimizing damage to surrounding brain and nerve tissues. Through the Neuro-Oncology Program, patients have access to the newest technology and techniques, including:
Stereotactic Biopsy — This minimally invasive radiology-guided biopsy technique is used to obtain tissue samples for the Pathologist to provide diagnostic information that will guide treatment.
CyberKnife Radiosurgery — This highly focused
radiation therapy uses advanced robotic and imageguided
technology for unprecedented pinpoint
accuracy. We offer the only hospital-based Cyberknife in
Orange County and the most experienced team.
Intensity-Modulated, Image-Guided RapidArc Radiation — Utilizing Varian's new RapidArc technology, we are able to provide highly precise and complex sculpted radiation therapy allowing for maximum accuracy and improved patient comfort.
CT/MRI — State of the art imaging for tumor diagnosis, evaluation of tumor extent and treatment planning.
Stereotactic Neuronavigation and Guidance — Our neurosurgeons use leading-edge, 3-dimensional guidance systems to localize and remove brain and spine tumors.
Brain Mapping — We utilize the latest mapping techniques to provide a safe trajectory for removal of brain tumors, avoiding damage to important functions such as speech, language and motor control.
