Lung Cancer Programs
at Orange Coast Memorial
Early Lung Cancer Detection ProgramBased on NLST findings, Orange Coast Memorial recently launched an early lung cancer detection program. Providing annual spiral CT lung scans for current and former smokers, the program is designed to evaluate individuals who have no symptoms of the disease, but are at risk for developing lung cancer. This includes people over the age of 50 who have smoked a pack or more of cigarettes per day for at least 30 years, including current or former smokers who have stopped smoking within the past 15 years.
Lung Cancer Treatment ProgramOrange Coast Memorial offers an innovative comprehensive Lung Cancer Treatment Program which provides patients state-of-the-art, integrated, coordinated and compassionate care through a collaborative approach in the development of their treatment plan.
A multidisciplinary team of expert physicians including pulmonologists, oncologists, thoracic surgeons, radiologists and radiation therapists all meet with the patient at one appointment to review their test results and medical history so that together as one team, they can develop an individualized treatment plan that best meets the patient’s needs. A dedicated thoracic oncology nurse specialist guides each patient through their care plan and course of treatment ensuring that they are well-informed about their care plan.
