  Brachytherapy interstitial implants allow our physicians to deliver a very specific and effective dose of radiation to the tumor bed while avoiding the surrounding normal tissues. Patients are referred to us from throughout the United States, Europe, Australia and the Middle East to receive brachytherapy for hard to treat head and neck cancers and prostate cancer in particular.

• Permanent Seed Implants
  Iodine or Palladium seed implants are generally used to treat cancer of the prostate. This procedure is done in a surgical room equipped with a fluoroscopy unit. the seeds are deposited in the tumor using a specialized ultrasound, transrectal ultrasound system (TRUS), to achieve a uniform radiation dose to the prostate.
