Outright Major Gifts

Outright gifts provide the majority of philanthropic support for patient programs, education, clinical research, medical equipment and capital expansion for Long Beach Memorial and Miller Children's Hospital Long Beach. And as such, are a way to make a significant impact upon health care in our community.

Named gift opportunities are available to major gift donors for each fundraising initiative and are given to the first request. In order to help donors maximize their gifts and reserve the naming opportunities of their interest, pledges of up to three years duration may be made.

Gift development officers can assist donors with the details of reserving named gift opportunities and/or with drafting pledges. Outright major gifts may be made through gifts of cash, securities, property, and collectibles. Gift officers are knowledgeable about the details of executing gifts of cash and other assets and of the tax advantages of each.
