Murray A. Reicher, M.D.

Dr. Murray A. ReicherDr. Reicher is a Board certified diagnostic radiologist with subspecialty CAQ (Certified Added Qualifications) in Neuroradiology. He received an undergraduate degree at UCLA where he was awarded a National Science Foundation Research Grant and Phi Beta Kappa, and graduated Summa Cum Laude, then received his medical degree at UCSD. During his subsequent radiology residency and fellowship at UCLA, he received numerous prestigious research awards, published several scientific articles and co-authored the first textbook on MRI of the knee. He published the first scientific papers regarding high resolution MR imaging of the joints, and also participated in the invention of one the most commonly used techniques for magnetic resonance imaging of the spine.

After completing a neuroradiology fellowship at UCLA, Dr. Reicher joined Radiology Medical Group in 1986 and continued to make numerous significant contributions of teaching, scientific publications, and research in the area of neuroradiology, musculoskeletal MRI, and related MRI technologies. Dr. Reicher co-authored the first textbook on MRI of the wrist and has conducted over 50 invited presentations including courses delivered to the San Diego Society of Internal Medicine, the Western Orthopedic Association, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, the Society of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, and many others. He has participated in numerous commercial research and development efforts with international medical imaging companies such as General Electric, Shimadzu, Medical Advances, and Surgical Dynamics.

Dr. Reicher is internationally recognized for his pioneering work in developing an automated system for computerized medical image management and cost-effective filmless imaging. In 1992, he founded one of the world's most successful PACS (Picture Archiving Communication Systems) companies, D.R. Systems, Inc. Largely through his efforts, the Mercy Magnetic Imaging Center in 1992 became the world's first imaging center to adopt a filmless medical imaging operation, and Mercy Hospital in 1994 was the first private U.S. hospital to achieve filmless operation for MRI, Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound, and Nuclear Imaging.

Dr. Reicher has held numerous leadership positions in diagnostic radiology. He was one of the founding board members of California Managed Imaging, the first California statewide medical imaging PPO. He is the immediate past President of Radiology Medical Group, Inc. and currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Radiology Service Partners, LLC.
