Phuong Q. Tien, MD

Dr. Tien joined our practice upon completion of a pain medicine fellowship. Prior to her fellowship, Dr. Tien perfect her superior diagnostic skills and learned a variety of non-surgical treatment options in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Loma Linda University.

Dr. Tien moved to Orange County from Vietnam as a young teenager. She had a successful nursing career at FHP Hospital (now Orange Coast Memorial Medical Center) in Fountain Valley before she decided she can best serve her patients as a physician.

Dr. Tien understands the integral relationship between chronic pain, psychological symptoms and functional status. More importantly, the impact of chronic pain in the aging population has largely influenced her career path to incorporate a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach in her pain practice.

Dr. Tien is compassionate and expertly trained in a variety of diagnostic specialties and treatments. She has published in prestigious medical journals and given several presentations to the Annual Assembly of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

In her free time, Dr. Tien enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and expanding her horizons.
