Dr. Nilesh Vora is a partner at Coast Hematology-Oncology Associates and is Director of Palliative Care at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, where he also serves as Cancer Liaison Physician for the American College of Surgeons.
He received his MD from the USC Keck School of Medicine, where as a Deans Scholar he served as class president; and Internal Medicine and Hematology- Oncology training at Harbor-UCLA and City of Hope. He is certified in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. Vora is a Consultant Hematologist-Oncologist at all hospitals in the Long Beach area, and is Associate Professor of Medicine at UCLA.
He takes an active role in teaching House Staff at Harbor-UCLA, Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, St. Mary Medical Center, and Pacific Hospital of Long Beach. As an engaged member of ACP, ASCO and ASH, Dr. Vora developed an active protocol for elderly breast cancer patients in 2008, assessing the effects of chemotherapy on these older patients. He also reviewed treatment options for elderly lung cancer patients in Seminars in Oncology (2008).
