Lance J. Wrobel, MD

Dr. Wrobel is President of South County Orthopedic Specialists and our senior-most associate. He hails from the Windy City. After undergraduate studies at Loyola University, Chicago, he completed his medical education at Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. After interning at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, he and his family moved to California. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the US Naval Hospital, San Diego. Thereafter, he served at the Naval Hospital in Long Beach where he was Assistant Chief of Orthopedics. While in the Navy he served as Chief Physician and Surgeon for COMDESRON 31 in the Western Pacific where his duties required worldwide travel.

He began private practice in the Saddleback community in 1977. He has served in various capacities at Mission Regional and Saddleback Memorial Medical Centers including Chief of Orthopedics at Saddleback for two terms. He is Board Certified by the American Bard of Orthopaedic Surgery; Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons and member of the Arthroscopic Association of North America. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Wrobel practices general orthopedics with special interest in sports medicine and arthroscopy, arthritis and joint replacement surgery. He has been team physician and orthopedic consultant for Dana Hills H.S. and Santa Margarita High School.
