E Scott Sills, MD, PhD

Dr. Eric Scott Sills is medical director at the Center for Advanced Genetics, an in vitro fertilization program in Carlsbad, California. His research interests include bioethics, reproductive biology, minimal access fertility surgery, and health policy. Dr. Sills received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt and holds a PhD from London’s University of Westminster. He was awarded the MD degree from University of Tennessee in 1992. Dr. Sills’ gynecology residency was completed at NYU Downtown Hospital with further sub-specialty work in reproductive endocrinology at Cornell University.

Dr. Sills has practiced IVF both in Europe and the United States. He has published and edited several books, including “Fighting At The Fertility Front—A Navigational Guide to Infertility for U.S. Military, Veterans and Their Partners”. His subsequent textbook “Screening the Single Euploid Embryo: Molecular Genetics in Reproductive Medicine” (Springer AG; Switzerland) presents the worldwide experience to make IVF safer, simpler, and more successful. In addition to books, Dr. Sills has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and has collaborated on the discovery of three previously unknown human gene mutations.

He is Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, American College of Surgeons, and the Royal College of Physicians (Ireland). Dr. Sills is registered and/or licensed for medicine in California, New York and the United Kingdom.
