Dr. Michalik is a health-sciences track assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at University of California at Irvine School of Medicine and the associate program director for the pediatric residency from which he has received several teaching awards.
He received his medical degree from the Western University of Health Sciences, completed his pediatric residency at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital, and his fellowship in pediatric infectious diseases at the Children’s Hospital of New York at Columbia University Medical Center.
He is actively engaged in clinical research projects involving viral infections, particularly Rotavirus, Varicella Zoster virus, and HIV as well as working with trainees on several infection-related research topics.
During his free time, he enjoys backpacking and surfing.
