Alan R. Schenk, MD

Dr. Schenk is Director of Continuing Medical Education at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, Laguna Hills, and was the founding director of the Saddleback Osteoporosis Clinic. He is certified in the interpretation of bone density studies (DXA) by the International Society for Clinical Densitometry. He incorporated diagnostic ultrasound and ultrasound-guided injection techniques into his practice in 2006, and added occupational therapy in 2011, both firsts among Orange County rheumatologists. Dr. Schenk was one of 500 rheumatologists nationwide who were named Top Doctor by U.S. News and World Report in 2012. He was named a Top Doctor by Orange Coast Magazine and the Orange County Medical Association for 2013 and 2014.  He is medical director of the Arthritis and Rheumatic Disease Center in Laguna Woods.

Dr. Schenk resides in south Orange County with his wife Nancy and has two young-adult children. He plays acoustic jazz guitar and mandolin with the quartet TimbreLine, and big band archtop guitar with Swing Set, an ensemble affiliated with the Laguna Beach Community Concert Band.
