The Biggest Loser’s Ali Vincent Shares Inspirational Story with Staff at Miller Children’s Hospital Long BeachJuly 29, 2010![]() Ali Vincent and Miller Children’s employee.
Employees, visitors and patients from Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach lined up to be the first to meet Ali Vincent, season five winner of the hit NBC show, “The Biggest Loser” and dedicated advocate for the March of Dimes. After tipping the scales at 234 pounds, Vincent made a life changing decision to audition for the fifth season of “The Biggest Loser,” where she broke show records to become the very first female winner of the hit television series. Since that time, Vincent has gone on to inspire and motivate thousands as she continues her personal quest to live a fit and healthy life. Vincent, who has written a book and is now a motivational speaker, encouraged employees to vow to make positive changes and to find support for their goals. Those who attended were asked to enter their name in a drawing and pledge to make a healthy lifestyle change within the next three months. Vincent pulled the names for the drawing and handed out a gift bag from Famous Footwear, along with a gift certificate for shoes to give the winners a head start on their healthy lifestyle pledges. In conjunction with the March of Dimes and Miller Children’s, Vincent toured the Miller Children’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where she had the chance to meet with local parents, nurses and staff. Vincent has recently been working with the March of Dimes, a leading non-profit organization for pregnancy and baby health, to help prevent birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. “We are honored to have Ali Vincent visit our campus,” says Mark Roberts, MD, chief academic officer for Miller Children’s Hospital Long Beach. “She is a great inspiration to our staff, as we continue our path to employee wellness.” Like Us.
