New Serenity Garden Provides Peace and Tranquility to Patients, Their Families and Medical Staff

San Clemente, Calif. (March 21, 2008) – Saddleback Memorial Medical Center San Clemente proudly announces the completion of their new serenity garden which will makes its debut at a special dedication and celebration ceremony on March 25. The garden will serve as a place of comfort for families and employees needing a quiet, peaceful setting.

The newly designed and uniquely landscaped serenity garden was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Damsker family, San Clemente Women’s Guild, Saddleback Memorial – San Clemente Foundation, and other generous donations from the community.

“The Damsker’s hearts have always been filled with a depth of gratitude for the ability to partner with Saddleback Memorial in providing for the community’s needs” says Chaplain Sheryl Faulk, director of pastoral care at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. “Their true spirit of philanthropy and desire to share the blessings they have been given by God enables us to create this garden that will be a blessing to so many.”

The serenity garden boasts beautiful plants and flowers that were selected based on their colors, textures and appearances. The fountain which provides sounds of trickling water and comfortable seating area work together to create a harmonious and welcoming space.

“We wanted to provide a place where people can go to refresh their mind, body and spirit” says Liz Bear, Administrator at Saddleback Memorial – San Clemente. “The addition of this garden aligns with our commitment to provide patient family centered care.”
