Dr. Afshan Ashraf Ali was educated at King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan. She completed her residency at LeBonheur Children's Medical and St. Jude Children's Hospital, through the University of Tennessee. Dr. Ali served a Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and New York Hospital/Cornell University. She also completed a research fellowship in molecular biology-immunology at the Rockefeller Research Lab at Sloan-Kettering Institute, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, in New York City.
Dr. Ali has been a part of the Orange and Los Angeles medical community for over 13 years. She is committed to providing excellent care for the health and well being of the children of our community in a family centered environment.
It has long been Dr. Ali's wish to work with a networked pediatric cancer program that would provide state-of-the-art care to children with cancer without pulling them away from community resources and support. The unique program offered by the Jonathan Jaques Children's Cancer Center embraces the family as a whole and deals with a child's illness in an environment that supports and meets their needs through extensive psychosocial intervention and community participation. By working with the Jonathan Jaques Team as the Interim Careline Director, Dr. Ali is realizing her dream. |
