I am a physiatrist, a medical physician who specializes in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Physicians in this field treat a variety of conditions that results in disability and impairments, including strokes, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, neurodegenerative and movement disorders, to name a few. Our interest lies in restoring function so that our patients can become as independent as possible in their activities of daily living, their mobility, their cognitive processing, and their reintegration into the community. We apply a multidisciplinary team approach, utilizing, when appropriate, physical, occupational, and speech therapists as well as neuropsychologists, acupuncturists, and pain management specialists. We strive to treat patients as a whole and to optimize their quality of life.
