Joel M. Cherlow, M.D., Ph.D. is Director of Saddleback Memorial Department of Radiation Oncology and on staff with Long Beach Memorial Radiation Oncology Center. An expert in pediatric oncology, he is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor with UCLA's School of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology. He is also a resident instructor with the Departments of Radiation Oncology and Pediatrics at the UCI School of Medicine in Irvine. As a specialist in pediatric oncology, he is an active member of the Childrens Cancer Group (CCG), as well as Chair of the CCG Radiation Oncology Committee. Dr. Cherlow has been active with Childrens Cancer Group (CCG) since1984, and currently (since 1996) is Chair of the CCG Radiation Oncology Committee. This is a cooperative group which focuses on pediatric tumors with membership nationwide.
Educated at Princeton, MIT and UCLA, Dr. Cherlow is Chairman of the National Protocol Review Committee at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and is also a member of the Research Policy Committee of Memorial Health Services. He has published more than 20 scientific publications and when not teaching, lectures others on various cancers. |
