Dr. Bethencourt has been practicing cardiac and thoracic surgery in Long Beach for 11 years. He graduated from MIT and Yale Medical School. He completed his residencies at University of Texas and UCLA.
He established the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Program at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and has special interests in cardiac valve surgery, including minimally invasive surgery, valve reconstruction, the Ross Procedure and human homografts.
He is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and is Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center.
