How a Bill Becomes a Law
Laws passed by the legislature affect every aspect of our lives — the taxes we pay, the education our children receive, and how our health care is administered. California is governed by a ‘bi-cameral’ legislature — the Senate and the Assembly. There are 40 state senators and 80 state assembly members.
