Expanding to Meet Community Needs
Our Growth
Each day as we care for our patients, we see first-hand the vital need for healthcare services. Still, the actual numbers amaze us. Since opening our doors, the number of patients coming to us for care has grown 245 percent. The highest area of growth has been in outpatient services, which has increased a staggering 330 percent. If that's where we are today, just think about the future.
Our Community
Our population is growing and aging. The number of people in our community between the age of 50 and 64 has increased dramatically since 2000, with 36 percent projected growth by 2011. This is the baby boomer generation on the cusp of becoming our senior citizens. The number of senior adults living in our community is expected to increase by 26 percent over the same time
period. In the city of Fountain Valley alone, the increase is 39 percent. Our seniors are the most vulnerable to serious illness and represent the highest use of hospital services.
Our desire to continue offering the very best healthcare to our community is greater than the space we currently have to fulfill that desire. We must have significantly more space in order to meet the needs of those who count on us.
